Woodworking Classes
The Woodworking program at Make It Too is unique in that NO KITS or models are used and everything that every child builds is completely from scratch. We offer various levels of woodworking programs as noted below.
BEGINNERS WOODWORKING - Ages 6-9

WOODWORKING LEVEL II - AGES 9-11
Children build a variety of fun projects, and continue to learn a wide range of valuable carpentry skills such as measuring, fractions, sawing, drilling, routing, fastening, sanding, shaping, assembly, and painting. Hand in hand with the practical skills goes a wide variety of other concepts such as abstract reasoning, applied mathematics, problem solving, craftsmanship, fine motor skills, respect for tools, and patience. Sample tools used: Screw gun, band saw, drill press, belt sander, lathe, router with instructor assist. Sample Projects Include: Stepstool, Jewelry Box, Child's Adirondack Chair, Basic R2D2. Sessions are in 6 Week Intervals. Children Complete 1 to 3 projects per session (depending on the project) at this Level.Click here to Register!
ADVANCED WOODWORKING - AGES 12+
Students use the skills they have learned in previous sessions to create elaborate projects with lots of detail, and will add electronics to their woodworking projects such as designing and developing working model cars and planes with hobby motors or various model robotic toys. Sample tools used, nail gun, router, band saw, Soldering Iron, Miter and Table saws with instructor assist. Prerequisites: Level II Woodworking. Younger children may qualify with multiple prerequisite classes. Sample Projects Include: 1:12 Scale Working Car, Working Transformer, Working R2D2, Working Model Merry Go Round.
